    Flint Distributor Paint?

Was the distributor in place when engines (small block, circa 1963) recieved paint?

Yup, had a coffee can over it to mask it, may show some overspray on the bottom where the clamp is.

Thanks for your respones, John and Dennis.

This is what I thought (and did not think it was contreversial) but I was recently talking with Dave Fedler who informed me he felt otherwise based on his experience of looking at many, many distributors.

My 63 Bowtie car does have some orange paint at the base with absoutely no hints of any "touch ups" to the near by manifold. Your responses confirm the only possible explaination. Perhaps most distributors have this erased before Mr. Fedler gets to see them, thus skewing his view.

        Thanks for the input
