Last week I asked the board for help on taming the 390 broncos under my hood of my 1970 Corvette. I just got back from my mechanic and the fix turned out to be a new set of points and condensor. In all, the intermittent problem was caused by bad spark plug wires, fouled plugs and badly worn points. Now I have much more horsepower than the original style tires can handle!
Thanks for all your help. I did not think that the points were all that old when I started having problems but now that I think a bit more about them and reflect on their condition, I guess they had seen several thousand miles more than my memory could recall.
Happy New Year! One of my Y2K problems is solved.
