G.M has set up a site in honor of the 50th anniversary of the small block engine. There's some interesting info and the NCRS is mentioned also. The link is below

Re: G.M small block 50th anniversary web site
i was at the 40th anniversary gathering of the SBC and they had a lot of the orignal engineers and zora there.i had brought some photos of zora setting in his corvette on the beach at daytona before some of his speed runs. i asked him to sign the photos which he did but he asked "were did you get these" and i told him i took them while i was at the beach because we were racing in NASCAR at the time. it was MCed by smokey which made it very interesting. i have the VCR tape of the event and i just watch it once in a while to bring back old memories of the first days working with SBC. i bet there are very few if any people left that helped design the SBC- Top

I supplied a 1955 265 to G.M. of Canada for a couple of shows on the 40th. I have a pic of it displayed with the 1968 Camaro Trans Am Racer of Roger Penski'(sp).

Clem,
My older brother was a GM engineer for 40 years. He told me that one of his first projects as GM was to solve the early wearout problem for the stamped rocker arm. He is still alive and lives in Arizona. He retired a few years ago but has some interesting stories. He finished his career with GM truck group.

Re: G.M small block 50th anniversary web site
Most of the remaining members of the original small-block design group meet for lunch the third Tuesday of each month at a local restaurant here in our little town of Romeo, Michigan to reminisce about the old days and marvel about how far their little jewel has come since 1955 Sixty million engines ain't too shabby- Top

Re: G.M small block 50th anniversary web site
Mike, I'm in Mesa AZ. Janie, Zora, and I have been on a Motorhome odyssey since October. We are on our way to the FL keys via CA----so much for GPS! We have the 65 in tow in an enclosed trailer-----no, it's not a trailer Queen----- as out daily driver when our coach stops for more than a day. The Corvette has been a blast on some of the switchback roads that were laid out by a drunken snake. We have been on "root" 66 more time than I can count----it sure gets around. Anyway, we will be on the road until about mid April. We have broken bread with several Vetteheads and are looking forward to seeing many more.
Thanks for missing me and asking where I have been---now you know more than you wanted.

Loren, I have Bills location and phone numbers and would also like to see him.
I'm back in Michigan for the holidays and will return to AZ on the 6th of Jan. In the mean time I will get in touch with him and see if he would be willing to see us.
