wheel well black-out and undercoating

I am in process to black-out my 63 SWC.
What is the amount of coverage of the black-out in the wheel wells ? Is it 100%, say front, back, innertop and both sides ?
(There is a "survivor" for sale on Ebay, which shows absolutely NO black-out.)
Most, Corvette's I have seen, all show varies stages of undercoating.
Also, what is the best way to apply the undercoating, what mat and what spraygun should I use ? The assy manual is not very descriptive.

Factory original coverage in the wheel wells varied with the phase of the moon! They were in a hurry to kick production out the door and there's a BIG difference between cars built at different times based on individual assy worker, recent QA/QC writeup activity, Etc.

I've seen untouched original cars with little more than a 'dribble' of undercoating centered in the wheel well with little fore/aft coverage to cars with thick, blobby drips WELL away from the top/center radius. The choice is yours regarding how much is too much/too little....

I will go with whats described in the rest. manual, namely primer, then undercoating, then black-out paint.
