    C3 / 71 Vibration revisited/ Thanks Terry!!

A couple of weeks ago I posted a question here about a vibration I was having at highway speed with my 71. I had my wheels spun balanced twice, checked the u-joints, had the driveshaft rebalanced all with no change. Now mind you these were new rally wheels and new BFGs. I was at a point of not knowing where to look next. Well I'd like to thank Terry McManmon for not only suggesting I bring my tires and wheels to a shop with a Hunter 9700 WVCS but for also providing a link to a list of shops that had this system. Well I took my wheels to one of the shops recommended and they found I had a bad wheel. After looking at it with the tire off you could see where it was bent and out of round. Now after all this time living with this vibration I now know where it came from and how to fix it. Thanks again Terry this made my day and I just thought you'd like to know.

This response is why I believe NCRS is worth every penny. It is because senior members knowledge of various items and their willingness to share that knowledge with newer members invaluable.
    Thanks,
    Rick

      You are welcome Jerry

      Jerry,
I'm pleased you had a positive outcome, and very glad you posted your results. That is how others will be able to find the answer to their problems when they search the archives.
Amazing machine, that 9700, isn't it?
When I looked at their site, in order to post the link for you, I noticed they now have a system that connects the 9700 to their alignment computer. If the 9700 finds a wheel/tire that leads (pulls in one direction) the alignment program can produce settings that will compensate for that. Science is just so amazing.

Thanks Jerry for posting the results.

Myself and I'm sure others on this board appreciate hearing back as to resolved issues. I too have experienced the benefits of the Hunter 9700. That machine used by a competent technician can uncover and correct many tire/wheel problems.
