Hi again. I was wondering if there is such a type of paint avialable that members use to cover fiberglass repairs on early C3s...mine is a 69. I've tried previous suggestions with tinting the resin with only marginal satisfaction due to my lack of experience in this area. I don't have a large area to do...a small area ahead of the rad support and behind the grill is my main concern. Any and all tips/hints here will be greatly appreciated. Thanks.

Re: Dark Charcoal Grey/Black Fiberglass Paint?
Many of those areas had varying degrees of either red primer and semiflat black paint on them. You could just cover with both and call it good.
They do sell pigment specifically for polyester resin. When mixing, you should add the hardener first and mix, then add the color.
I prefer using other repair materials. You can buy pre-dyed resin with short strands in it from people like Ecklers (original formual panel adheisive). It also works great for making repairs and matches the original color. I also mix it with random stranded fiberglass and find it works exceptionally well. Play with it untill you get it right. Clamp your repairs as much as possible. Coarse grid all areas that need repair. That will open the fiberglass up and allow for great adheision. There are a million ways to make a repair on a corvette. The trick is to make it strong, long lasting and not show up a year later when it has really had a chance to settle in. Good luck, Terry- Top
