    vendor credibility

Has anyone dealt with "Davies" (corvette parts) out of Florida
They priced me a 57 radiator at a reasonable price. I'm concerned beacaue
they used the wording (orginal brass repoduction) as opposed to the wording (replacement) which would look similar but not exact, but I'm concerned
that when I receive it it will won't be what I expected Thanks in Advance

Maybe you could give them a call and express your

fears and then see what they have to say.

        Re: vendor credibility

When I started the frame-off restoration on my '67, I received many wrong or incorrectly described parts from various sources. I would send them back for a refund, but it would cost me the shipping to do so, and I ended up still needing the part. As a result, when I ordered a part, especially those supposed to be original, nos or however it was described, I told them at the time I ordered it that if it wasn't as described I would not accept it and expect them to make arrangements to have it returned at their expense. I also put all my purchases on credit card in the event I needed to dispute the charge. This actually works well for both the seller and buyer. You'd be surprised how often they decide to double check the item when you let them know this, and how often their idea of original and/or used varies from yours. The most important thing is to make sure you use the right term when ordering and let them know what you expect to receive.

          Paul------

Several years ago (before eBay) they used to have an "NOS" section on their website. I don't know if they still do, or not. In any event, I scoured their NOS parts list (it had about 600 line items on it, as I recall) and found several items at reasonable prices that were of interest to me. A few were VERY hard-to-find pieces. I called and ordered them. They arrived fairly promptly and they were just what I ordered. However, ordering "NOS" pieces of a certain GM part number is more "definitive" than ordering other things.
