The 61/62 TIM & JG says "AIM indicates female latches installed on outboard side of each seat, however original examples indicate the opposite is typical". My AIM in Section A, Sheet 3.00 shows the Female latches on the inboard side. Any clarification would be appreciated.

Re: 61/62 Seat Belt installation
i put the females in the middle of the car where they(real females in the 60's) belonged. no problems with seat belt arrangement as the car went thru the Duntov process. then again, the dipstick was the team leader then and ya know how dense he is/was. regards, mike- Top

Re: 61/62 Seat Belt installation
Gary,
I looking at page 8 of the fifth edition. Seems like the wording is correct and the female buckles are in the center of the car. The confusing part for me is the AIM shows it right(female belt in center of car) but The TIM & JG says the AIM is incorrect.- Top

Re: 61/62 Seat Belt installation
My '62 came brand new from the dealer(to me) with both seat belt buckles in the middle of the car where the shifter is. They are still there and I have only recently noticed that they are "removable". Hope this is some value to you.........John Nuzzo- Top
