C3 Interior Trim Screws

I recently ordered an Interior Trim Screw Kit from a Corvette parts supplier that hes been mentioned on this site as having quality reproduction parts. When I began replacing the screws on my '70 convertible, I noticed that some of the "old screws" were chrome, such as the sunvisor mounting screws, while the screws supplied in the kit were not. I realize that some of the screws, like the ones for the sill plates and upper dash pad are black, but shouldn't the rest be chrome?

James, it has been my experience that none of the "complete interior" kits contain all the correct screws. There will be some right and some wrong. You are correct that the ones mounting the visors should be chrome, but the ones holding the windshield header panel are black. Also, the black ones across the dash are painted interior color. Many kits also have the incorrect door panel screws and washers.

Reba, Thank you for your response. I had a similar problem when I ordered a heater hose and radiator clamp set. The heater hose clamps were correct tower clamps but the radiator clamps were incorrect for the year. Guess I won't buy "sets" anymore.
