please excuse my typo errors in the first message. Was the interior painted surfaces of late 58 corvettes with charcoal interiors (vinyl) black or charcoal? Did the interior paint change when the exterior color changed from charcoal to black? What color was the steering wheel

The gauge cluster, radio console, defroster vents, kick panels, underside of deck lid and several other parts I have probably forgotten are all charcoal. When we did the '58 we used PPG "Charcoal Poly". It was a very good match, lacquer too.

What is the exterior color of your '58? I have a late '58 that is black/silver coves (verses charcoal) with charcoal interior. All of vinyl and steering wheel are charocal and all of the painted surfaces that would normally be charcoal (cluster, column, console, kick panels, inside trunk, heater bezels, etc) are painted black. The car is unrestored so I'm sure of the original color for the painted surfaces.
