Mid Year Spare Tire Bolts

I need to repair the thread inserts where the spare tire carrier bolts screw into the frame. Since I don't have the bolts yet, can someone tell me the size and thread of what the female insert should be. Thanks

There are no inserts. The bolts are threaded directly into the frame. I believe that the bolts are 1/4" - 28 NF.

I am sorry for any confusion, the bolts you reference must be for the tub. I was refering to the 9in bolts on the V brace.

The bolts originally were held in place with weld nuts inside the frame. If they have rusted away I don't think they can be replaced, but you can reach in and hold a nut in place to hold the long bolts that hold the spare tire brace. It's not easy, but you can do it. Use a lock washer under the nut so it catches and holds the nut as you tighten the bolts. I don't know of any other option if the weld nuts are no longer there.

I believe the bolts are 3/8" coarse thread

Another prime application for Riv-nuts (but 3/8"-16, not 5/16"-18); see my post up a couple of threads under "63 Fasteners".
