    C1 Stsrved For Fuel

In the midst of putting a new fuel tank in my '56 due to rust and crud, I decided to check the fuel pump draw. The service manual says minimum 4 lbs. and maximum of 5 lbs. Mine checks in at less than 3 lbs. of draw. Could this be the problem? It runs fine until you put the foot into it and then starves. This winter I am going to put a new tank, meter, lines, etc. in it but need to know if I should change the fuel pump. I suppose some of the crud from the tank could have found it's way into the pump. The fuel pump is a correct AC replacement pump for that year. Thanks.
