C3-1978 Trip Odometer reset stem

My trip odometer reset stem broke this weekend during the ops test at our chapter judging meet in Knoxville. It worked so I got the points-but it snapped off at the face of the gauge.

I have looked at most of the Corvette supply house web sites but no one seems to carry one for the 1978. The stem is square which is a different design than earlier models. Any advice greatly appreciated.

Tried that-it works and holds for several hours but when I try to use it to reset the trip odometer is breaks again.

Barry, Joe Ray Corvette Parts has them NOS fer $5.00. Like you, I could not find them in catalogs

From your posts on the tech board...sounds like the judging was brutal! But we truly appreciate your penchant for getting it right and spirit for keeping that 78 original. Keep up the good work

Yeah I took my lumps but it was fun! Besides it gives me something to do before I get my scoring sheets back and begin to prepare for a Top Flight assault in Bowling Green. Thanks for all of your help and advice Tom.
