    63 Interior Quarter Trim Fasteners

Putting my 63 convertible back together after having it painted, and am following the AIM.

The rear quarter trim panels (the ones that cover the conv. top irons) are each held on with 2 special washer head chrome trim screws. Have those...no problem.

On the bottom, where the panel attaches to the door sill area, I have a 1/4 x 20 hex bolt with "UR" marking and a flat washer. The AIM shows a "screw" with NO washer. What is the "correct" fastener for this position? Should it be a bolt, a machine screw, washer head, etc. ???

I'm 100% certain that I've replaced these UR bolts sometime in the past, and that they are not "original" to the car. Thanks in advance. Chuck

The judging manual says: "A self-tapping black phosphate hex-head screw with shoulder washer secures the panel at the bottom corner."

Thanks, Ken. I didn't think of checking the JG, as I didn't remember that being addressed. I've got plenty of black phosphate washer head "self tappers". Didn't make sense that I had a bolt, as there is no nut plate into which to screw it. Chuck
