Help ID fan found on '64

Just curious as to the correct application for this fan which came on my '64.
Part Number stamped near the tip of one blade is 912239
(5) blades, 5.5" long, 3.75" across
18" diameter
Balance weight on one blade
Blade mount tabs on hub are more or less square, not at all like the pointy ones onthe correct fan.

Scott - It sounds like it could be the optional fan blade assembly used on C60 (AC) equipped small block 1966 -1968 Chevrolets vehicles including Corvettes. If that is the case I would expect 3 lines of information stamped on each blade end which would include an alphanumberic manufacturing date code (a single letter for the month and a single digit for the late number of the year), below that the number 912239, and below that the letters SC.

And you are correct, in that I would not expect this fan blade assembly on a '64 Corvette, but someone might have installed it to improve cooling. Hope this info helps. Pete

Pete, Thanks, your info confirms what some others have thought. I shudder at the thought of replacing it with the correct fan since I've never had even a hint of a real cooling problem. (I did have some temp sender issues.)Idling in traffic on a 90+ degree day it goes up to about half way between 180 and the next mark. I suppose it doesn't get any better than that.
