convertible top color j grantham i'm nearing completion of a restoration and have returned the car to original color white with red interior i am selecting the top and can't decide whether it should be white or black i think white would have been the color that would have come on it but am interested in knowing if anyone has seen this combination with a black top instead comments jim

Re: Dumb Question
re dumb question jack humphrey not really a dumb question the most likely reason you're not seeing responses is this is a personal taste issue and how can we tell you what your tastes are if you go to shows you'll see lots of color combos and can make up your own mind if you have original owner documentation there's only one correct ncrs answer make it match what shipped from the factory see our dilema- Top

Re: Dumb Question
re dumb question jack humphrey with convertible you had your choice of soft top or hard top as a no cost option addition of nd top was extra in the soft top area each model year offered a selection of colors and it was buyer's choice at no charge i think each year had white and black in the choice mix but i may remember wrong soft top went back to ' and extended to ' the ncrs judging guide defines what soft top color options were available in each my and i don't have my set here at the office i'm judging chair for rocky mtn chapter and have all guides if you don't have a judging guide for your my get one it's the best bargain going in information also many non ncrs publications like mf dobbins' fact book series detail interior exterior color combinations offered in each my as well as what was in the factory dealer option list so the point is the color of the soft top was a buyer nc option there is a correct answer for how your car originally came from the factory but you'd have to have original paperwork or prior owner data to know reputable soft top manufacturers offer the entire spectrum of factory original color combinations this is a matter of personal preference in the absense of original documentation good luck and thank's for asking the ncrs discussion board- Top
