    Re: 2 posted lifts

    Rick,

If you have decided on a two poster I don't really know much about them, and can't be of any help. If you are considering a 4 post lift, I just ordered a Cytech Double Park. After much research and help from people on this board and the Corvette Forum. I also talked to several of the company's. With a pair of jack bridges I think it can be almost as versatle and you won't need a 6 inch reinforced concrete floor. Just an opnion

      Rick,
I would agree with George. I am a crane/elevator inspector and I test, inspect, and certify these lifts on a federal installation. I like the "mohawk".

        Re: 2 post lift

I have just installed a Rotary 2 post lift and I am very happy with it. I did a lot of checking and Rotary had the best service after the sale record.

If you are restoring, the two post is probably

best and most versatile. If you are storing and doing minor tinkering, the four post will probably suit you fine.

As far as the Rotary lift, probably one of the best and most expensive on the market that I know of. They also go out in Ford facilities under the Rotunda name brand. Way overkill for home use. They are manufactured about 35 miles from me. I wouldn't even drive up the road to look at them when I found out how much they cost, installed by a dealer.

You can buy a good, durable two post lift for hobbyist needs for around two thousand that will last a lifetime. You can install it yourself if you have a hammer drill, a couple of adjustable wrenches, a pair of pliers, a circuit breaker, few feet of wire and a few hours of your time.

Re: If you are restoring, the two post is probably

A Rotary 10,000# installed for about $3,100 in my area. And they will be around when you need service. I would not buy a lift not certified by the ALI ( I believe they are the correct initials)

Just my two cents worth. I have a two post inground (16 years old with only one seal replaced) and a two post symetrical above ground (5 years old with No repairs)
