After lots of measuring, inspections and discussion with several very helpful people, it is looking more and more like my passengers side lower rear a-arm attach point is bent slightly inward. From the forum, do any of you have any experience in repairing and/or replacing these brackets? What was entailed? What parts and components had to be removed to gain sufficient access for the cutting and welding ops? Attached is a photo of the replacement bracket assy available from ZIP products.

Re: Replacing/repairing lower a-arm bracket?
Tim,
I was pretty sure that's where you would find the problem. A bent control arm or frame rail wouldn't have produced the same results and dimensions that you have. Also, the bent bracket is the most common as it's probably the weakest link.
I've never actually straightened one of these but have had it done by frame shops several times over the years with great success. Find someone that has the latest equipment and experience and I'm sure they will be able to save your origina bracket.

Re: Replacing/repairing lower a-arm bracket?
Hi Tim,
I think all you would need to know is the span distance between the LH & RH forward bolt holes and LH and RH rear bolt holes on the brackets. If someone has a good frame restoration in process these measurments would be easy to get.
Given this information and one good side welded on, you could remove the bad bracket and locate the new one and weld it on through the little slots provided on in the bracket.
If you are intrested, I may have a good used part back in the bone yard. You pay shipping and it's yours.
