I'm not sure you will ever get enamel spray paint to look like the original basecoat/clearcoat of your 82. I suspect you are fighting a losing battle.

I'd be surprised if it cost more than $1k to do have the best shop you can find repaint your bumpers unless you're talking Canadian $. In that case, it's likely close at $1k.

Otherwise bring it over to the Detroit area for a drive and we'll fix you up good as new.

Only my $0.02, but for that price and with the difficulty involved, I'd have the old one repaired and proceed like that. I at least hope that at that price you're getting them already installed on the foam.

P.S. My 72 got a Top Flight and Bowtie with a tear in the driver's seat a lot larger than that....
