Was the storage compartment area painted to match carpet color, carpeted, or bare fiberglass finish. I've read different publication's, illustrating the differences i listed above. Can anyone tell me which is more accurate for an early 67 (Nov 2, 66) production convertible, or where there different assembly methods per dealership option orders.

Same color as the carpet, as indicated in the '67 JG (the only standard against which the car will be judged). -

Don - Coincidently just this past weekend I pulled the cover up from the jack storage area. I can assure you my '67 (Nov. 29) (green/saddle), the storage area is an "unfinished, rough looking green".
If you'd like more precise description, please advise.

The storage compartment in your car is painted the exterior color in both well area's?. Does the area under the jack have a piece of carpet?.

Don - Go buy a lottery ticket...you are a lucky guy. The reason I had the jack compartment open was to take some pictures of the carpet area for another gentlemen from this site.
This is from original owner '67 green/saddle conv. (29 Nov. '66); jack area absolutely virgin. No carpet evident in or around jack area.

My 67 Sunfire yellow black standard int. has black jack storage wells. Don't think there painted but will check when I get home tonight.

John - Oops...you're right. The jack storage compartment in '67 green/saddle is saddle, same as interior. Not car color - green.
