    fuel supply

    Hi Everybody !
The inside of my fuel supply line that runs through the right frame rail from rear to front is rusted internally. My question is can the line be replaced with the body on ? Help!

      Hello Dennis

        Re: fuel supply

        Hi Dave,

I'm a C-3 guy but if your C-2 is anything like my 68, it would be a bear!

If you follow your hand along the kickup frame rails, you should be able to feel out the heads of the clip bolts to first decide if you can swing a wrench to back them out.

Second, as you mentioned, the act of pulling the old lines out and re-installing new lines through the frame rail would take some serious finessing. I think that most prior discussions regarded possibly raising the body off the frame on the passenger's side enough to give adequate clearances to get at both the bolts and lines.

The higher the entire car is safely off the floor is a plus too.

        Like I said, I'm a C-3 Dude, what do I know about 66's

        Chuck

          Hi Chuck!
Thanks for your input. I was hoping that some one might have tried this with sucess. I was also thinking that I could remove the lower panel below the rear bumper and that would give me the room I needed or I was thinking I could remove both tail lights on the right rear and maybe fish it in and out through the tail light opening. Any way thanks for the help.
          David

            Re: fuel supply

If your looking at the one piece pre-bent lines, it will be a challenge no matter where you feed the lines from.

Hope you get better informed responses.

            Be safe,

            Chuck

              Re: fuel supply

In the Richard Newton 1963-1967 Corvette Restoration Guide on page 80 it says, in part, 'In order to replace the steel fuel line on the right-hand frame rail, you'll have to separate the body from the frame.' I can't say whether this is correct or whether there is a trick that invalidates the statement. Hopefully someone with some experience will post. FWIW, and good luck.
