T-top Storage bag question

I have a 69. I believe the T top bags are original. They have black letters insde that read: TEX 8 69. Who knows about this? How do I clean them and preserve them? They are fairly good but a little musty with fold creases in them.

Larry, It sounds like you have the original storage bags. TEX was one of the manufactures who supplied these at that time. It was around October I think that a change was made from velcro to the 3 chrome snaps for closing of the flap. Don Smith #28087

be very carefull cleaning the inside the letters will come off .i found out the hard way on one of mine.

Where are the letters located? I just went and looked at my '69s with the velcro but didn't see "anything" on the inside.

the bags out of my 70 built feb5 70 have snaps and the one i didnt remove is dated 11 69 with an a on top ,something i cant read in the center and 11 69 on the botton with an odd shaped border around it . it appears to have been stamped by a machine and is about every 5 inches on the complete inside of the bag. if i remember correctly i cleaned it with fantastic in the 80s.big mistake !
