    Need help identifying a shifter

I needed to pull the flywheel so I could replace the starter ring gear. While I had the tranny and shifter out I decided to clean them and check numbers.
As I already knew the tranny was correct but I found the shifter puzzling.
Its the correct kind (look and operation with reverse lockout, etc)but the number on the shift arm is 3863388. Thelast two charactors which looked like 8's where worn down so I'm not sure.
The other concern is the reverse lever at the transmission has a part # of 7061 05.
This not correct either according to my documentation. I was going to put a backup light switch back on the car but this lever is not shaped like my documentation shows.
    Can anyone identify these parts?

    Gary-----

I can find no record, at all, of GM #3863388.

      Joe,

Am I looking at the correct number. I found this number on the chrome handle inside where the shift plates are.
The numbers are worn so I'm probably not conveying the correct number

        Gary,

If the number looks like it might be 3863363 instead of 3863883, that would be the correct number for the original chrome shifter tower for 65-67. (possibly late 64 also)

          Mike, that may be it!!

I looked at it again, the sixth digit could be a 6. The last is not raised enough anymore to make it out.
Maybe my issue is really with the shift lever on the tranny. That's definatly not like the documentation shows.
