The 4-hole (wire loom support )grommets I have seem to imply, via embossed numbers and letters, and reading them looking down forward of the support bracket towards the front, (outboard to inboard) that LHS order is cyls # 7,3,1,5. This makes sense, as sequentially firing cylinders #5 and 7 are widely separated, to prevent induction X-firing. Likewise, the RH grommet shows order (reading outboard to in, looking down between support bracket and firewall) # 4,2,6,8. Again, sequentially firing cylinders # 8 and 4 have max. separation.
The RH order agrees with the '65 AIM drawing on UPC 6 sheet B3, but the LH is impossible to follow.
Moving on to L84 (F.I.), UPC L84 sheet 7, the drawing is much easier to follow from the distributor towers to the two cylinder banks. It confirms the LH side order as (out-to-in) #7,3,1,5, but the RH is #2,6,4,8. Is this in error ?
