C1 - coil spring part numbers...

We have a couple of NOS springs that we got with our '56 when we bought it. Trying to determine what year that they are for. One of the springs has the part no. - 3703787 - any thoughts on exactly what they are for?

Unfortunately, they're not springs applicable to your 1956 Corvette or, even, any Corvette. Springs GM #3703787 are applicable to 1953-54 passenger cars with Powerglide or all 53-54 convertible passenger cars. They were originally identified by 2 stripes of black or orange paint on the lower 3 coils. These stripes may or may not have survived the ages since they were manufactured.

Yes, they still have the orange stripes; thanks for the info. I guess that they will be going on ebay...
