Will a GM 68-82 spin on oil filter adapter work on a 64 block? One vendor mentions using the 68-82 adapter on the earlier blocks but I heard it would not work. Which is correct?

Since it bolts where the original mount for the cannister filter was, and these were common for many years, I don't see why it wouldn't work......Craig -

The 68+ oil filter adapter will not work on a pre-68 block. A special adapter is required. These are available in the aftermarket.In Appreciation of John HinckleyComment
