Hurricane Frances

Hurricane Frances has arrived. Looks like the east coast is getting it full force with well over 100 MPH winds. Here on the west side, we haven't gotten the full on yet but some incredible wind and rain starting around 2:00 AM. It's dead silent for an hour and then suddenly, all hell breaks loose for 15 minutes. Now we're back to calm with 5 MPH breeze again until the next wave comes through. Several tornado's mixed in with these waves. You can hear palm trees snapping blocks away. Surprised the power is still on here but I'm sure that will be off soon.

i would rather run my

snowblower that put up with what you have to. that is why i only go to fla. in the winter for a month. the best part of being retired i do not have to go out in the snow when it does come

I live in Southeast Winter Haven and just got the 60 ft oak tree off my roof and patched the holes Friday from Hurricane Charlie. Now I am sitting here watching Frances repeat the action. Apparently my house is where Charlie and Frances paths crossed in Central Fl. Oh well, both Corvettes so far have faired well with no damage.

The weather channel said it would be the worst in S.W. Fla. about 3:00 p.m. Sunday and they were right. It was windy and some rain all night, but about 15 minutes ago it really picked up both the wind and rain, and its 3:15 so I geuss you can't get much closer than they did with this one.We don't have many trees around the power wires this time Charley took care of that 3 weeks ago.I geuss you could say that is one positive.Now we will see what Lyle is going to do, but that is not until next week.Good luck to all.

You are correct the next one is Ivan.I stand corrected.I just hope it goes somewhere else.This is getting to be an every week end thing.We sure don't need any more bad weather. Unfortunately it looks as this one is on the same path as Charley so far.

I live 1/2 a mile south of 60 in Valrico and the eye passed right over me.
