    C2 air cleaner

The tops of the air cleaners for 63-65 (340-365HP) are the same, but the bottom of the 63 is different. What is the difference and are they interchangeable?

The 340 HP 63 uses a Carter Carburator. The 64/64 365 HP uses a Holly Carb. The size of the opening in the air cleaner is different.

I have attached a photo to this pos and the next post. Is one a 63 and the other a 64-65?

          Hi Steve,
The bottoms on a 1963 have a fitting for the vent tube in the front of the piece that sits on the carb. It is the only air cleaner with this feature.
The only diffence I know on in the lid is that 1963's have the air clearner instructions written in orange ink and the rest are in black ink.
          Hope this helps

Will a 63 340hp air cleaner fit a 64 300hp with the original carter carb??

I would think the air cleaner would fit perfectly. There are a couple of possible issues. The 63 vents from the front the 64/65 vents from the rear. You may have to change some of the hoses around to connect it. You may also want to check the height of a 64/65 aluminum manifold vs the cast iron manifold on the 63. You may have hood clearance issues.
