    HONK! HONK!!!!

I have two horns that both say:

    Delco Remy
    Type S

One horn has "442 12V" under the word model on the back side.

The other horn has "12V 481 Or 4B1" under the work model on the back side.

I either of these a Corvette horn?

IF so, for what year/years are they applicable?

    Thanks

    Re: HONK! HONK!!!!

Mike, 442 and 481 are the last three digits of the horn part number, with the preceding four digits probably being "9000". Using my abridged (Corvette service parts only) book, those part numbers appear NOT to be Corvette, but my book doesn't show ANY production numbers if they are different from the service numbers.

Typically, horns are dated in the number-letter-number format (side opposite the model stamp?), where the first character is the last digit of the year, the second character is the month, and the third character is the week of the month. The date would help narrow the possibilities, but Joe Lucia is probably the only one that can help you with the exact applications.

Chuck and Mike - My 61-62 Judging Manual shows P/N 9000442 for the RH horn and P/N 9000441 for the LH horn. It would be neat if the "481" number could be read as "441". Then you'd have a correct pair, for a 61-62 at least. These things at swap meets honk in the $100 each range, and that's as is. Regards, Dick
