The seat backs in my 82 silver green vette are made of molded plastic and are color matched to the upholstery which also is silver green. This green colour on the seat backs has rubbed off in a couple of 25 cent areas due to chafing. I know you can get exterior enamel paint mixed if you have the paint code but does this interior vinyl paint or dye have a code. I know you can get it at Ecklers but they do not ship by air and it is a long way from Florida. TIA

Yes they can mix the color with varying degrees of flattening agent. There should be a chart to follow in the paint chip books the get the correct lever of gloss for the part you want to paint. Also with adhesion promoters and flex additives the paint will not come off. While some plastic interior parts could be ordered in color it was rarely done. Most were sent in a neutral color and painted to match. Bring the seatback to your paint supplier and have your interior codes handy. He should be able to mix it for you. Don't be scared if the color looks to shiney at first. It needs time to dry for the true color hue and shine.- Top
