    62 Water Pump Fitting

Are the fittings in the water pump painted orange or left plated? I have "Duntov" examples of both ways in my picture files.

    Thanks for your help.

    John -

Depends on the fitting - the heater hose fittings were installed at St. Louis, and are unpainted; the top bypass fitting to the bottom of the expansion tank was installed at Flint Engine, and was painted (which is why there's no part number shown for it on the A.I.M. sheet, and it's shown in "phantom" view).

Re: 62 Water Pump Fitting - Addendum

As with many other things, the installation of the upper fitting to the tank was not universally installed at Flint Engine - some engine options in different year applications had it called out in the A.I.M., and it was installed at St. Louis - I don't have all those A.I.M.'s. Should be called out in the TIM&JG.
