I wouldn't be surprised if there were even more chassis coating material changes along the way. I really have no knowledge of the change between 67 and 68 but I do vividly remember reading the tech sheet that I got from GM engineering in 1974 when they made the switch to the paraffin base coating.

Everything that they did was an attempt to either cut costs, speed up manufacturing or make an inexpensive improvement to the product.

At one time NCRS wanted you to do Mclellan and Bowtie at the same national convention so you may want to check as I think some did it this way at Winsor.The reason was no changes could be made if it all happened on the same field. Lyle

I remember when that change was made to the paraffin-based "waxy" product, as all the assembly plants bitched about it; the change was made due to high-mileage corrosion durability concerns, as the paraffin-based material was very heavily hyped as "self-healing" from scratches and stone impingement damage.
