    C1 - Headliner glue

Does anyone know the best glue to use on the hard top headliner and the dash pad? If so, what is the brand name and where can it be purchased?

3-M sells a glue, in aerosol cans, available at most auto parts stores, especially those supplying paint shops. mike

The 3M product Mikie references comes in a standard and heavy duty formulation. For a headliner, I strongly recommend the HD. Don't ask why...

        Re: C1 - Headliner glue

I have found that the 3M product (I can't recall if I used HD or Std) failed in humid conditions. I have a can of Permatex Upholstery Cement that claims to resist moisture, but I haven't used it yet. Of course, if you never take the car out in the rain, and live in an arid climate, it doesn't matter.

          addendum

I should point out what I am sure Mike and Dennis know, that my headliner tests were not on anything as old as a C1. Oldest test vehicle is 1976. You will have to decide for yourself if that matters.

3M 08090 Super Trim Adhesive works very well. Have never had any problems with it turning loose.
