1961 EARLY & LATE SEAT BELTS??

Is there a differance between early and late 1961 seat belts? I have a early 61 and need black seat belts. One vender said there is a differance and others do not list a differance. Thanks. Joe DeLuca

The buckle release casting was painted (color matching) on all early-to-mid 1961 models; (approx. serial number 5500), a mixture of painted & unpainted were on late 1961's. "U.S.PATENT 2,458,810" was stamped on the back side.

your copy of the '61-62 NCRS Judging Reference Guide says early belts (up to approx VIN 5500) used 6-panel weave belt fabric where later cars showed a mixture of 6-panel and 4-panel belt fabric....
