C2 Gas Tank over-flow hose strap color

What is the correct judged color of the gas tank over-flow hose plastic strap that attaches the over-flow hose to the bumper support bracket on a January 1964 built 1964 Corvette? The judging manual states that it should be a black strap. I ordered a one from Quanta with my new gas tank and I received a clear or white strap. Quanta ia trying to tell me that the white strtap is correct for both 1963 and 1964 cars.

Which color strap is correct?

The orignal on my March built SWC is "natural", which sounds close to what Quanta supplied you.

They darken/yellow with age.

I agree with the Duke. Mine are natural also. (actually, slightly yellow now after all these years)

Thanks for the reply. Mike... is your car a 1963 or a 1964? My car is a 1964 #9258. I believe the manual says that it should be black for my (1964) car.

My 64, #8763, was also white. I'm not sure when that changed to black.
