    C3 Headlight bezel issue....

I was changing the headlight in my C3 today. No problem getting the bezel off, the body colour trim around the headlights. When I went to replace it, I chipped the paint on the body, because the bezel wouldn't "slip" on.
On looking at the right to left and comparing the measurements, the left bezel trim sits 3/8" lower than the right, the headlight door heights are the same.
How do I adjust the headlight/trim to alleviate this problem? Do I have to loosen everything and re-align the headlight door?

There is no adjustment for the trim ring. The front screws go directly into the housing. The rears can be moved slightly since they are j-clips.

Wayne, I saw that. The problem is when I go to remove the bezel, it won't slide off the headlight housing without touching the paint on the body in front of the headlight. It's like the headlight isn't open enough. The height of both headlights is the same, the housing locks into place, and is resting against the stop.......

There are two adjustments. There is a stop on the outer end that limits the upward movement. Find it and see if adjusting it will solve the problem. If not leave it loose and loosen all of the bolts that hold the actuartor to the housing. They are up under all of the springs. Move the actuator assembly to allow the door to come up higher and then readjust the stop. Doing this may throw other adjustments off and they will have to be reset.

Wayne, I don't have my AIM with me, but thta was the answer I was looking for. So, back off the "stop" screw and then loosen the bolts above the springs, and then re-adjust everything. How many bolts am I looking for?

Bruce After the stop if you lengthen the eye on the canister the door will open higher. I never seen in print how many turns to put the eye on the shaft but I have fixed the problem you are having this way and it will not change the body fit but the stops will need adjusted. Lyle
