    C 1 exhaust manifold leaks

I have recently installed my exhaust manifolds. I followed the judging manual that states that exhaust manifold gaskets were not used.

I installed my exhaust manifolds with-out gaskets and torqued them to 30 lbs. Last night I started up the car for the first time since and found a couple of leaks. What do I do? should I install gaskets and take the point hit?. does anyone have a trick to this that they would like to share?

    Regards, Steve

Take the manifolds to a GOOD machine shop and make sure they are "true" (not warped). Use a VERY THIN bead of Ultra Copper RTV header sealer when re-installing. Make sure none of it squezes out to become visible.

    Dale.
