I am looking for information on how to adjust the door posts both passenger and driver side on a C1 body type 1957 Corvette. My reference books states that an adjustment can be made to these door posts for a good sealing at the windshield. Should this be attempted by a car restorer or body shop? And what kind of time element would be involved in making these adjustments? Thank you.

Re: Door Post Adjustment C1 Body 1957 Corvette
There is limited adjustment available by means of loosening one bolt at the bottom of the front post assy. It's accessable from the small square access hole toward the front bottom of the door. You can basically move the post and front window track in and out with this adjustment. Anything much more would involve shimming, bending, etc. and probably be best left to a pro.
If the front window track path is altered much, the rear window track needs to be loosened as well so that they remain in a parallel position and the window isn't placed in a bind.
As to time, it will take longer to take the door panel off than to do the adjustment.- Top
