Just had the EGR replaced on the '85 with 130K - car will now stall, without warning, no discernible pattern - but will immediately restart. It's been suggested lack of proper fuel pressure, but that doesn't seem to fit with the immediate restarts. Ideas???

Re: Clem - is there a way to check for this
the only way i can think of is disconnect the EGR so it does not open and see if the problem goes away. this will work if it is a vacuum operated EGR valve but if it is a electric operated i have no clue how to check the operation as they came out after my stint as a mechanic. some were also back pressure operated. you could remove it and make a block of plate for the engine and try that.best that i can come up with- Top
