I recall reading about some '67 small block cars that recieved the big block hood due to a problem with the mold or something for the small block hood. Did these car also have the different colored stinger? How many cars were manufactured? Is this change documented on the paperwork somehow? I would be interested in finding one of these cars, but have no idea how to verify if the hood was original to the car. Any info on these cars would be really appreciated. Thanks in advance, Mark.

Re: '67 SB with BB Hood
I had a similar question for '68 small block w/big block hood and was told there was no documentation showing the factory doing this. Rumors have it that it was possible when a small block car came down the assembly line, and there was only a big block hood staged, then that is what was installed - no written proof of that happening however. Reportedly, the only documentation would be a dealer's receipt to the buyer documenting a dealer's change to big block hood.- Top

Re: '67 SB with BB Hood
Mark,
It seems that next to "What is the meaning of life?", "Did the factory put BB hoods on SB cars?" is the most asked question of the millenium!
I do think that there is something to it, but it has never risen above urban legend status. Now, I KNOW that my '67 coupe was delivered to the original owner (not me) with the BB hood (car is a 327)as it is noted on the original bill of sale that I possess. In all fairness, I must say that this notation was listed under "dealer installed options and accessories". To my knowledge, there has never been a documented case of a factory installed BB hood on a SB car. There you have it in a nutshell. As previous posters have mentioned, there is a lot on this subject in the archives.
