68 L79 Harmonic Balancer size

Anyone out there know off the top of their head the diameter of the above?

I want to put a "timing tape" on it and need to know the exact size.

It's the original balancer that came with the engine.

It's 8". However, I can't tell you that means 8.000"

Good question. I just happen to have an 8" balancer here so I measured it because I never really knew the exact size either. It comes out to precisely eight inches. That would be .0697 per degree or .697 at the ten degree line on your tape.

Appreciate your info.

Trying to make sure the total advance at full rpm is correct.

That's why I'm putting the tape on.
