Members,
My '65 250 hp has original Carter WCFB carburator that is in need of a rebuild.
TIM & JG documents finish as: Main body - Zinc dichromate, Base plate - Black Phosphate, and Air Horn - Natural Aluminum. Obviously, a carburator fresh out of a soak bucket won't meet these requirements.
Questions: (1) How much judging attention is given to these finishes? (2) Are there carburator rebuilders that specialize in duplicating these finishes? Looked for carburator specialist in the Driveline without success. Any ideas from the membership on how to proceed.
Thanks,
Gene
