Paxton Supercharger Kit for '63-7 Corvette

I acquired a Paxton kit that was sold for '63-7 Corvette installations back in the sixties. I need help with the installation. Does anyone here have experience with such a vintage kit? Oddly, it does not enclose the carburetor. It came with an aluminum carb bonnet and some sort of relief valve.

If installing this kit on an old Corvette offends you, please excuse me for living.

        Jerry,

-------My cousin bought a Paxton kit for a 1957 Dodge D500/hemi back in about 62 or so and it had a box. I was under the impression that things had to be able to hold pressure and that the carb shafts and such would bleed off too much of the boost. With that said, my addled old brain seems to remember a mag article many moons ago that showed how to properly pressurize a carb. Cant remember where or when however. Something about O-rings on the throttle shafts sticks in my mind though. This article was so long ago that its possible that a bunch of new info may have come along. Hey, Andy Granatelli is still around. Why dont you get ahold of him and ask? Just a thought,ha,ha!..........Bill S

Were Paxton setups used on Fords during this time period? For some reason I'm thinking they were maybe a Shelby option? That may be one path to persue for info. There is info available for prepping a carb for blow-through induction. Out of curiosity, what carb was used for your setup? Good luck with this - it sounds interesting.

                        latham blowerws

i just remembered that there was a "latham" blown corvette around my area back in the late 50s or 60s but i never saw it up close and personal. these blowers use the corvette side draft carbs and the fuel injection base plate to mount it to the engine

Yup, Latham blowers were axial-flow, and had a howl all their own
