I know that "Survivor" is a BG thing, but I'm spending the day cleaning the interior of a very original '72 in prepartion and discovered a couple of things I've never seen, read, or heard about. Thought it mught be of interest to this board.
1. I found a piece of styrofoam on each side, in the well above the #4 body mounts. The are somewhat a rectangle shape with a thin and a thick end. They have GM parts numbers on them and are formed to just fit that space. Anybody ever seen these before?
2. Also, I've have seen a couple of thick foam pieces that are kinda the shape of Texas before but never could figure out what there purpose was or where they went. This car has them positioned just behind the should belt reel house. My guess is that they are a safety piece to keep things from getting into the shoulder belt reels and jamming them.
Both of these are not shown in the AIM ( that I can find ), and are not mentioned in the Judging Guide, nor have I ever seen them mentioned anywhere else.
Is this new information ???
