    C1 Power Brakes

In the for 57 drawings you will find a G.M print showing a added power brake booster that G.M considered to install in the C1's but was never done as we all know. Because I pull a 47 tear trop trailer behind my 55 Corvette ( yes I know I'm not a blue blooded NCRS fanatic) Sorry guys! It made me think how well would that work, with out changing my brakes to disk,or master cylinder and all the things needed , plus the money and changing from the stock look.

Knowing the booster they showed was the same used for 55 to 57 T-Bird I asked the owners of them what they thought because the master cylinder and drum brakes are about the same as C1's. Big difference they told me, great,.. So I located a NOS T-Bird booster and added it in my 55. I'm telling you this because the Disk brakes may be more high tech, but my brakes now will throw you against the windshield..
My wife was always against driving the 55 because of the brakes but now drives the 55 and loves it.Any one that may think like my self and won't's great stopping power for their C1. E-Mail me.
The total cost is around $400.00 and no one looking under my hood has yet seen , found or know it has power brakes.

Is that a factory bracket you used to install the booster? : )

              You are quite right...

At the Mustang shop where I work in the summer, we get calls al the time about disc brake conversion. Usually, when I pin them down, what they really want is power brakes, because their modern cars are so much easier to stop. Manual disc will actually make this worse, and at twice the price is a costly mistake.
