The original rear leaf spring from my L72 needs to be re-arched. Who does this type of work and will the re-arched leaf spring perform like new? Also, How can I tell if my spring is the heavy duty F41 type?

One company that I've read that does re-arching correctly is Eaton-Detroit Spring. Give Mike Eaton a call if you have any questions about re-arching. Regarding the heavy duty question, what year is your car and how many leaves does the spring have?

The car is a 66 coupe and I have to check on the # of leafs. I have a replacement spring on the car now and its lousy as the car bounces around "like a cork" in the ocean. BTW, great article that you and Joe had in the recent issue of the "restorer". Also, do you have a phone # for Eaton Detroit?Comment

Is your original spring a two-stage or a one-stage spring? If it's a two-stage spring (3 shortest leaves are not arched), then you have the standard spring. If it's one-stage (all leaves arched), then it should be the HD spring.
