C1 Hood Release

I got a point deduct at the speedway regional for my hood release handle turning too far to the right and left. How much movement should there be in the 1959 hood release handle and what keeps it from turning?

Jimmy, the originals have virtually no movement. That is you can't turn the handle. They have a notch in the rod the handle is attached to and a mating nub on the housing the rod fits in. Hope this helps, Ted
