What type/make of brake pads should I install on my 66' that best prevents brake squeal? Whatever they maybe, I plan to trim the edges to prevent potential squeal as outlined in the Chevy Technical Service Bulletin, dated 8/20/65, which was reprinted in the sring 2004 issue of the Restorer.

Re: C2-Brake Pads
I used the inexpensive organic pads available at your local auto store and they don't squeal at all, with no special action required.- Top

I got a response off line as a result of your original post. I don't know if you got one too, but my issue was a squeal at light braking only. I was told this is caused by the interface between the back of the pad and the piston, not the pad on the disc. I was told that you can buy "anti-squeal adapters" at most auto parts stores which go between the pads and the piston. It was also suggested that a dab of hi-temp RTV on the back of the pad works.
I have not tried either yet. I thought I'd pass this along FWIW.
