I am shopping for a new convertible top for my '64. Are there any recommendations on the best source of a quality top that fits properly? Are there any vendors to avoid? Thanks in advance for your help.

Re: Mid year convertible top source?
Al Knoch is as good as it gets. The only "problem", I was told, is in the stitching for the bow pads. Originals have double stitching, and Al Knoch's are single stitched. Dating of the rear window is available at extra cost.
There is an installation video available, too, and I would strongly suggest that you have it if you have never done one of these before. Even with the video, it is not a job for everybody. If you're patient and fairly skillful you will have one helluva nice looking top.- Top

If you happen to be going to Bloomington in a couple of weeks, check out their trailer and behind it as they generally have their installers on-site doing installations for customer's cars. It is very interesting to watch thee guys do their work. they are very good. More than one person has been seen videotaping the process for tops, seats, etc. I think they have show discounts as well on some products.- Top

Electron Top is also a good top. They will put the correct date stamp on the window and also put the tag on the lower binding. I don't remember what the tag states but they sew it in for originality.- Top
