I am having trouble with my seat adjustment. The left side track on the driver seat is broken. The "pin" that raises when you twist the handle has broken off and only the right side will drop into the groves in the track. Any forward or back motion will brake the seat loose. Can I buy just the "pin" or do I need to purchase the entire seat frame? Where are these parts available?

Re: 66 seat tracks

GM never serviced components of the seat adjusters (tracks). These were serviced as an assembly only. So, no parts ever were or are now available from GM.
There are a few parts available in reproduction for the mid year seat adjusters. However, I don't think that the part you seek is one of them. Incidentally, for mid years, the 63-66 adjusters were functionally the same and are interchangeable, while the 67 are a one-year-only item.
As I see it, these are your options:
1) Repair the adjuster you have using fabricated parts. I expect that you'll be able to get the materials you need in any good hardware store;
2) Seek out a good used adjuster. These suffer from significant wear and, sometimes, corrosion. So, be very careful if you go this route. A used one might be just a little further away from disfunctionality than the one you have. In my mind, used pieces for parts like this are a "last resort" sort of thing;
3) Purchase a new reproduction adjuster. You're in luck, because they are available for both 63-66 and 67. Most of the Corvette parts vendors like Dr. Rebuild, Paragon, and Corvette Central should have what you need. The adjusters are about $150/each.In Appreciation of John Hinckley- Top
